City of Rockville issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.

The Mayor and Council have sent a letter to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority expressing their strong support for a study of the Rockville Metro Station

The Mayor and Council have sent a letter to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority expressing their strong support for a study of the Rockville Metro Station, following notification in summer that money for the study was available through WMATA’s Project Development Program.

Through the program, jurisdictions can request that WMATA undertake planning studies and other transportation and real estate analysis, such as planning rail and bus stations, real estate and joint development, and other transportation infrastructure.
