Northwest Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 16.
(Washington, DC) — Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger tonight issued the following statement in response to comments made by President Donald Trump at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier today:
“Our U.S. intelligence community has consistently affirmed that Russia deliberately interfered and influenced the 2016 election. In fact, 12 Russian intelligence officers were just indicted by the U.S. government for hacking our election. This was the opportunity for President Trump to stand up for our country and democracy and tell Putin that if you interfere with our country, there will be hell to pay. Trump did nothing and, worse, discredited our own intelligence workers. I am disgusted and outraged.
It is time for President Trump to end his bromance with Vladimir Putin, hold Russia accountable for its actions, and start putting America first.”
