Historical Society of Baltimore County Board of Directors issued the following announcement.
Join Baltimore historian and educator Wayne R. Schaumburg for an illustrated program that looks at the role played by women in Baltimore's history. The talk will focus on the period from 1776 to 1960, and will cover famous and not-so-famous women who have contributed to Baltimore's growth. They include Mary Katherine Goddard, Betsy Patterson, Mary Elizabeth Lange, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, Henrietta Szold, Mary Elizabeth Garrett, Lizette Woodworth Reese, Grace Turnbull, Etta Haynie Maddox, Lucille Polk Carter, Lillie Carroll Jackson, the Cone sisters, Marie Bauernschmidt, and others.
