Stevenson University issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.
Stevenson University women's volleyball junior Katie Leftridge was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 2 team for women's volleyball selected by CoSIDA on Thursday. Leftridge becomes the third Mustang women's volleyball player to earn Academic All-District honors, joining Jessica Gieselman in 2012 and current assistant coach Samantha Perillo in 2014.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
An Applied Mathematics major, Leftridge led the Mustangs to a 23-12 record and an NCAA second round appearance in addition to the program's seventh straight conference championship. Leftridge finished with 415 kills on.218 hitting and also totaled 394 digs and 50 total blocks. She was a three-time MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week and was also named AVCA Division III Player of the Week for the second time in her career on October 30.
Earlier this week, Leftridge was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American and was also a MAC Commonwealth First Team selection.
