Upperco Volunteer Fire Company issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
This (12/17/18) around 9AM, Upperco VFC responded to a structure fire in the 18000 block of Marshall Mill Road in Upperco. Crews from the surrounding counties responded to the fire with a total of over 50 firefighters and numerous fire apparatus on the scene. The fire was isolated to a detached garage and no firefighters or civilians were injured during the fire. Two dogs were rescued, but the pet rabbit was lost in the fire. The Fire Investigator was on the scene when crews were leaving around 11am.
