Salisbury– The City of Salisbury is honored to announce that the Human Resource Department has been recognized with the Local Government Insurance Trust’s (LGIT) Risk Management Services Award. LGIT is a non-profit organization that provides self-insurance programs for counties, cities, and towns in the state of Maryland. The Risk Management Services Award recognizes extraordinary risk management and safety standards within municipal governments. The award also comes with a $12,619 credit towards the City’s liability premium.

“We want to thank all of our City departments and employees for their unwavering commitment to safety,” said Risk Manager Frank Ennis. “By receiving this award once again, we have proven our City’s dedication to not only a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, but also for a safe community for all of our residents.”

Salisbury scored a 100% on LGIT’s Primary Program Loss Control Credit Survey for the sixth year in a row. This survey evaluates a variety of safety standards including Risk Management processes, inspections, employee training, accident investigations, along with other factors. By earning a 100% rating, the City will receive no further recommendations from LGIT on how to improve its loss control oversight for the next fiscal year.

City Administrator Andy Kitzrow congratulated the team on helping to create savings for taxpayers, and on another award-winning year.

“Thanks to the hard work of Frank and the team in Human Resources, the City gets a bonus of over $12,000 in savings on our primary liability premium with LGIT, which means not only are city employees benefitting, but taxpayers are as well. The team has consistently sought out ways to improve the City’s work environment, and this prestigious award acknowledges their dedication to the safety of City employees and residents,” said Kitzrow.
