Decedent and Officers Identified in Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE, MD – The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has identified the decedent and officers in the fatal officer involved shooting that occurred on June 29, 2023, in the 100 block of N. Milton Avenue in Baltimore City. 

The decedent has been identified as 40-year-old Darryl Gamble of Baltimore. 

All involved officers are with the Baltimore Police Department. The officers are identified as Officer Matthew Banocy, a 4.5-year veteran, assigned to the Southeast District; Officer Nicholas DeJesus, a 2-year veteran, assigned to the Southeast District; Officer Austin Gutridge, a 10.5- year veteran, assigned to the Eastern District Action Team; Officer Connor Johnson, a 4.5-year veteran, assigned to the Eastern District Action Team; and Officer Nevin Nolte, a 2.5-year veteran, assigned to the Southeast/East Side Initiative.
