270 coaches at institutions in Baltimore County earned $69,933 on average in 2022

Baltimore County’s 270 coaches earned an average salary of $69,933 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fourth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Maryland post-secondary schools during 2022.

Baltimore County is home to five post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Towson University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $140,938.

Male coaches of men's teams received $68,394 on average in Baltimore County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $53,260.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
