79 percent of applicants to Towson University were admitted for fall 2018

At Towson University, 89 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Towson enrolled 22,923 students in fall 2018, including 19,818 in undergraduate and 3,105 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

81 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (54 percent) and Black or African American (23 percent).

The school admitted 79 percent of the 11,933 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
