Archbishop Curley High School issued the following announcement on Sep. 06.
Curley HS celebrated its opening school Mass on September 6, invoking the Holy Spirit’s guidance on this new year. Fr. Chris, Campus Minister, as main celebrant and homilist, asked each student to reflect on his unique gifts and talents, and to share them for the well-being of the Curley Brotherhood. This year’s Touchstone Scholars received recognition at the end of the liturgy.
The Touchstone Scholars program was established in the Fall of 2019 through the generous support of Howard L. Meyers (Class of 1966). Up to five Touchstone Scholars are selected annually from the Senior Class to receive a grant to be used toward their Curley tuition and/or other school fees & expenses.
Touchstone Scholars will be selected based on the following criteria:
· Must be a member of the National Honor Society
· Must Letter in one or more varsity sports
· Must be recognized by peers as a leader in one or more student organizations
· Must contribute positively to the school community through efforts such as community service, performance arts, or other school activities
Students who meet the criteria are invited to complete an application in the spring of their junior year. A committee then selects up to five recipients to receive a grant.
